embrace it, bitch

A lot of blog content i stumble across showcase seamless organizational skills or makeup routines, and i sit there googly-eyed wishing i could obtain that sense of order in my life.  If you don't already know me you'll shortly catch on to the blatant fact that I am frenzied, chaotic, tupsy turvy and did i mention A.D.D. to boot.

But the beautiful thing about the wonderful world of the world wide web is that it opens up a bounty of channels to express or celebrate the unfettered essence of diversity, variation and idiosyncracy which, afterall, blend into the kaleidoscopic landscape of this technological wunderweb. without the unique contributions of user-generated richness, we'd still be mired in the humdrum babble of a one-way method of communication. But as participants in the web 2.0 culture ,we are now obliged to contribute to the expansive conversation. and what we have to give is a unique smattering of our individual self.

the social stigmas identified with having ADHD are fundamentally misconstrued and debiitating IF you allow that intoxicating world of stereotypical babble into your life. many of the greatest thinkers of our time challenged established notions with rebellious indifference  only to conquer herculaen feats in the face if a continuous onslaught of public scrutiny. so for the sake of adders and mankind alike  iw ant to encourage all of you fun foolish messy clumzy riots out there, to lavish in your oddball ways of thinking. at 24 years old, i am just now starting to embrace my A.D.H.D. rather tha use it as as a crutch or attempt to conceal its unavoidable presence in my life.
so there goes my cathartic ramble,. Now onto the show!

mallory's useful little tips on life

  • keep two spoons in your freezer at night and when you wake up in the morning put the spoons under your eyes to reduce swelling and immediately revitalize those sleep deprived crater-sized bags under your eyes,
  • choose your outfit for the day the night before.
  • establish routines--the only reason I remain (moderately) stable.
  • buy a steamer- I hate ironing(don't we all?) and deciding to get a steamer has been one of the best investments i have made. I ordered the Hamilton Beach Full Size Garment Steamer from Amazon which is $65 and has a telescopic pole that retracts for easy storage. You get A LOT of bang for your buck!

  • i have a tendency to lose things….quite frequently. and one of the fleeting bugaboos I regularly misplace is the sneaky earring back. God forbid I not wear my iconic pearl earrings. in order to put an end to this scavenger endless scavenger hunt, i decided to outsmart the system once and for all. And so I turned to the most sacredly incandescent one-stop-shop in cyberland with its infinite surplus of everything and anything you could ever imagine: Ebay. For the price of $3(and free shipping) i ordered 100 earring backs and tada! problem solved.
  • my mom taught me this one: the quality of a person(particularly a man) can be summed up by three defining behavioral actions: how he treats his mother, waiters, and animals.
  • another way to "figure someone out" is to take a glance at his or her "Top 25 Most Played" iphone playlist. True colors will inevitable be revealed.
  • buy a shu uemura eyelash curler
  • never take yourself too damn seriously.IMG 1029

On Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury, Queen's whimsically bizarre flamboyant frontman know for his theatrical on-stage magnetism and his highly innovative and wildly captivating musical style, would have been 65 today.

The reason we’re successful, darling? My overall charisma, of course.

Mercury, the enchanted ringleader who so adventurously fused seemingly discordant musical styles and genres together turning every song he touched into one great big orgiastic odyssey. With its frantic operatic background vocals, electronic-disco underpinnings, and smatterings of any and all musical genres under the sun, listening to Queen is sort of like walking into a crazy fun house--thrilling, ambiguous, and entirely madcap.

The continuous showcase of musical oddities ever-present throughout the band's lifespan, manifested itself in fearless inventiveness and wildly enthralling musical productions exceedingly outshining that which any band since has accomplished. It is with this same uninhibited desire for a grandiloquent spectacle that I think Lady Gaga performs on stage (her name is, afterall, borrowed from the band's song "Radio Gaga") But no one could captivate, freighten, and exhilarate quite like Freddie did.

A concert is not a live rendition of our album. It’s a theatrical event.

Queen is undoubtedly my favorite band of all time. Every time I hear one of their flagrantly oddball rock anthems blaring, I'm instantly spellbound by its Dali-esque musical landscape, imbued with as much enchantment and unpredictability as any artist can strive to erect in his or her art form.

"I want to live the Victorian live surrounded by exquisite clutter"

"I Want to Break Free" is the Queen song which I'm most giddy-eyed over at the present moment. So take the time to absorb this idiosyncratic ballad and revel in the "exquisite clutter"

other praise-worthy queen songs:

  • don't stop me now
  • killer queen
  • bicycle race
  • under pressure
  • good old fashioned lover boy
  • another one bites the dust
  • bohemian rhapsody
  • fat bottomed girls
  • somebody to love
  • we are the champions

100+ Greatest Bar Songs

We all know that the musical roster played throughout the course of any given night can either trigger tipsy turmoil or beget bounties of bliss. The capacity to commandeer the jukebox and orchestrate the evening's musical selection is a staple of bar-hopping that serves as both novelty and expressionism.

The jukebox, an ancient predecessor to Pandora, social media networks, and other techno-savvy platforms, give users and barflys alike, an opportunity to interact with and add value to the communal environment If you're on the socially inept side of the spectrum or a plain old wallflower, domineering the jukebox with Fonzie-esque finesse might be all that you need to enter the limelight.

This technologically evolving means of user-generated content control, however, can be a precarious terrain—subject to emotional caprice, sporadic whimsy and demented yearnings to ferociously fist pump rage.

While there is no concrete list of jukebox party fowls, you should probably avoid toxic sources of crowd animosity and avoid selecting a notorious Song of Shame.

hello, i love you won't you tell me your name

i'm mallory, a
bright-eyed and bushy-tailed sparkplug with a natural affinity for mischief-making, a knack for creativity, and a passion for the burgeoning digital media frontier. oh, and just so you know, i'm a total riot.

i live in an exquisitely chaotic wonderland of a world. my haywire mind is ceaselessly abuzz with a crescendoing torrent of creative ideas and thoughts--and to express this percolating frenzy is the underlying aim of this blog. i've tinkered in the world of blogging with tippy-toed trepidation on several previous occasions, but never had quite enough time or commitment to really hit the ground running.

I wish I could say that I spent the this recent hiatus performing noble Peruvian missionary work or diligently attending to the advancement of my career as an overzealous young adult looking to change the world.  But let’s face it, I’ve spent much of the past year contriving mischievous practical jokes, dressing up dogs in funny outfits, and painting my nails with dutiful alacrity. But this time around i've finally decided to abandon my perfectionist writerly expectations and commit to this humble bloggy abode.

Without a committed job or collegiate obligations to attend to, the relaxation binge I'd come to know quickly took a turn for the worse as the crazy shenanigans of the  past year unfolded with a Jersey-Shore breed of reckless abandon. But thanks to  a good dose of soul-searching, I can confidently and ambitiously say that I’m back in the saddle again….bitches.

the dynamically evolving new media landscape serves as an illustrious opportunity for self expression. we are no longer merely the consumers of traditional modes of media, but the active participants producing, consuming, and interacting, as a highly opinionated lady with a flair for all things controversially entangled, i can think of no better outlet than this here blog to escape the tedium of life and fulfill my abandoned creative yearnings.

this will be a compendium of fast and furious rants, awestruck musings, and fleeting fixations largely varied in degree but primarily concentrated around:
  • social media
  • popular culture
  • trends
  • technology
  • reviews
  • online finds
  • contemptuous responses to...pretty much everything

this is my topsy-turvy digital playground. enter with caution, as you are hereby warned that the following content contains a bevy of inappropriate banter, nonsensical shenanigans, and all out pandemonium. prudes and goody-two-shoes, just remember i warned you.
